Introducing Anthony tidd, BDJF 2025 Curator

麻豆传媒社区 is thrilled to announce that Anthony Tidd, an international jazz artist, composer, and producer born in London and based in Harlem, will serve as the curator for the 2025 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. This year’s festival takes place across Downtown Burlington from June 4-8. This year’s festival, produced by the 麻豆传媒社区 and presented by

Anthony Tidd, a distinguished multi-instrumentalist and Guggenheim Fellow, has carved a unique niche in the American creative music landscape since his transatlantic move from London to Philadelphia, and later, Harlem. Over his 30-year career, Tidd has showcased his talents as a composer, producer, educator, and curator, collaborating with an impressive roster of artists ranging from The Roots and Meshell Ndegeocello to Lady Gaga and The Black-Eyed Peas. His debut album, Quite Sane – The Child of Troubled Times (2002), which blended elements of hip-hop, funk, and jazz, quickly became a defining work within creative music circles.

Tidd's compositional works extend from intimate duos to expansice orchestral works. His recent projects include contributions to Jay-S's documentary series, Rest in Power–The Trayvon Martin Story (Paramount, 2018), the orchestral piece Sa and Alatangana for the Detroit Symphony (2019), and Black

My vision for this festival is to create a space where diverse audiences can explore the expansive and inclusive universe of jazz.

“I am truly honored and excited to take on the role of curating the 42nd season of the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival”, said Anthony Tidd, curator for the 2025 festival. “For more than a century, jazz, especially as shaped by African Diasporic creative musics, has been a crucial part of our society. It has not only defined contemporary music but has also woven itself into the very fabric of our world. My vision for this festival is to create a space where diverse audiences can explore the expansive and inclusive universe of jazz. We will showcase a wide range of artists who pay tribute to its deep creative roots, whilst also looking ahead to the possibilities of what it might become in the future. This festival is a celebration of both jazz history past and the journeys that still lie ahead.”
